Role Overview

The Fire Technician provides fire alarm system installation, which requires low-voltage wiring, testing and troubleshooting of the systems, and compliance with local codes.

Status: Full-Time, Non-exempt

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install and wire fire alarm system per local building and fire code
  • Read, understand, and follow blueprints
  • Conduct a proper test and inspection
  • Troubleshoot and service a fire alarm system
  • Communicate expectations with customers
  • Out-of-town travel/stay on occasion for this position. (Per diem and hotel is provided as needed)

Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of fire alarm experience and low voltage experience preferred but not required
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Safe driving record
  • Must pass a background check and drug test
  • Ability to work 80% of the time in the field

The Alert Alarm Benefit:

Compensation starts at $19 to $33+ per hour DOE and ICC and/or NICET certifications.
